Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and safety standards
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works projects
- Utilize GIS mapping software for site documentation and analysis
- Testify in legal proceedings regarding code violations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or field engineering experience
- Valid California Inspector certification (BICSI or ICC preferred)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS mapping systems
- Strong knowledge of California building codes and OSHA regulations
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
