Responsibilities
- Administer Pension Plans: Manage and process pension calculations, ensuring accuracy in all benefit disbursements.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all pension activities comply with state regulations and federal laws.
- Retiree Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for retirees, answering inquiries regarding eligibility and payouts.
- Actuarial Analysis: Assist in reviewing actuarial reports to assess the financial health of the pension fund.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and pension status files.
- Policy Implementation: Implement new state pension policies and communicate changes to staff and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government administration, pension management, or actuarial analysis.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with CalPERS or similar state retirement systems is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.
