Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, parks, and public facilities
- Operate municipal equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., trucks, mowers, hand tools)
- Respond promptly to public service requests and emergency situations
- Conduct inspections and documentation of municipal assets and service needs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to coordinate public works projects
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Participate in community outreach and public education initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, maintenance, or related field
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping systems and municipal software
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
