Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, loaders, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs and weather-related incidents
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and sites
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on municipal projects
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
- Assist in disaster recovery and emergency response operations
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Philadelphia residency preferred
