Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate light equipment and hand tools for construction/repair projects
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Respond to emergency public works requests during inclement weather
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on urban development initiatives
- Document work activities and maintain accurate project records
- Participate in community outreach programs related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
- Valid Washington State Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., forklift, excavator) a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments year-round
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of municipal regulations and safety protocols
