Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and trenchers safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during severe weather events
- Conduct daily inspections of municipal assets to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate public works projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records of materials used
- Adhere to all city regulations and environmental protocols during operations
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
