Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for municipal projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, tampers, power saws) safely and efficiently
- Assist in road maintenance, snow removal, and stormwater management operations
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Document daily work activities and material usage in compliance with municipal regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of construction/public works experience
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with reliable transportation
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
