Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) with proper safety protocols
- Install and maintain public utilities (water/sewer lines, storm drains)
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related infrastructure issues
- Conduct routine inspections of public works sites and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work zones per OSHA standards
- Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams on project timelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of construction/public works labor experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Must be available for flexible shifts including weekends/weekends
