Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex web applications and backend systems for state agencies using modern programming languages (Java, Python, C#).
- Ensure all software solutions are fully compliant with state and federal security standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Implement robust testing strategies to ensure system reliability and performance under high load.
- Document technical architecture, APIs, and processes to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience in a government or enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability assessments.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and fingerprinting process required for state employment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
