We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Weekend IT Support Specialist to join the Department of Technology Services. In this role, you will ensure that essential public services remain uninterrupted by providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and managing security protocols. Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for internal government staff and public terminals.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine server maintenance, patch management, and security updates on weekends to ensure business continuity.
- Helpdesk Management: Monitor and respond to helpdesk tickets submitted during the weekend shift, prioritizing urgent critical incidents.
- Security Compliance: Enforce government security policies and conduct access audits to protect sensitive citizen data.
- Asset Management: Track inventory of hardware and software assets, including logging repairs and upgrades.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in the centralized knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and occasional holidays.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
