Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identities
- Manage security checkpoint queues with efficiency and customer service focus
- Identify and report suspicious items or behavior according to TSA protocols
- Maintain accurate security logs and incident documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for document verification systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hours continuously)
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
