Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to customers along an assigned route in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all items are placed in the correct receptacle.
- Collect and process outgoing mail, including Post Office Box mail and out-going flats.
- Sort and distribute mail efficiently at the Post Office or on the route using prescribed methods.
- Interact professionally with customers to answer inquiries, handle complaints, and resolve issues with courtesy and efficiency.
- Perform essential physical tasks, including lifting heavy packages up to 70 lbs, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods.
- Maintain the safety and security of the mail and the vehicles used during the delivery process.
- Adhere to all USPS operational procedures, safety regulations, and performance standards.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn our delivery tracking systems.
