As a City Carrier, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of mail and packages to residential and business customers. This is a physically active role that requires a strong commitment to customer service and safety.
Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming mail and packages according to delivery routes.
- Deliver mail and packages to customers in a timely and accurate manner, often on foot or using a vehicle.
- Obtain signatures for registered or certified mail and collect payments for C.O.D. items.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any delivery issues or complaints professionally.
- Maintain a safe driving record and adhere to all USPS safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Perform general clerical duties, such as recording daily deliveries and managing postage meters.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record (MVR check required).
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (extreme heat, rain, snow).
- Willingness to undergo a background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
