Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an established route in a timely and accurate manner.
- Sort and process mail efficiently upon delivery, ensuring proper handling and organization.
- Interact professionally with customers to answer questions, resolve inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain the safety of the mail and the vehicle, adhering to strict USPS security protocols and safety guidelines.
- Operate a vehicle (if applicable to the route assignment) and perform all required vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Submit accurate daily reports and paperwork to the Postmaster.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Physical stamina to walk and stand for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow established routes and procedures.
