Job Overview:
As a Postal Worker, you will be responsible for the efficient processing and delivery of mail and packages. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Mail Processing: Sort, cancel, and prepare mail for delivery efficiently and accurately.
- Delivery Operations: Transport mail to and from post offices and customer residences in a safe and timely manner.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service when answering inquiries or collecting signatures for packages.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including delivery vans and tractor-trailers.
- Route Management: Plan and follow established delivery routes to ensure coverage of all assigned areas.
- Maintenance: Keep delivery vehicles clean and in good working order.
- Security: Adhere to strict safety protocols and handle sensitive mail with discretion.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Background Check: Must pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly and perform work in all weather conditions.
- Driving: Valid driver's license (for Mail Carrier positions) and a good driving record.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to read maps.
