Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail & Packages: Sort and deliver mail and parcels to residential and business customers along a prescribed route efficiently and accurately.
- Route Management: Navigate assigned routes using provided vehicles and maintain a clean, organized vehicle for safe transport.
- Customer Interaction: Provide professional and courteous service to customers, including accepting packages for delivery and answering inquiries.
- Mail Processing: Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail for distribution to ensure timely processing.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws while operating postal vehicles and while on foot.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks on delivery vehicles and report any maintenance issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this position.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is preferred.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with the public.
