Responsibilities
- Sort and Process: Sort incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently to ensure timely distribution.
- Deliver Mail: Navigate established routes to deliver mail to residential and business addresses with accuracy.
- Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers, handle mail with confidentiality, and answer inquiries when necessary.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a USPS vehicle (if route assignment requires) while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Physical Stamina: Perform physical tasks including lifting packages weighing up to 70 pounds and walking long distances throughout the day.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate delivery records and resolve address discrepancies or undeliverable mail.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Driver’s License: Possess a valid Driver’s License (Commercial Driver’s License may be required for certain positions).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check, including a criminal history review and drug screening.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor when dealing with the public.
