Responsibilities
- Maintain and audit electronic health record systems (EHR) to ensure data integrity
- Implement HIPAA compliance protocols for sensitive veteran health information
- Coordinate with clinical teams to resolve health information discrepancies
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Generate compliance reports for federal regulatory bodies
- Lead system upgrades for health information security enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years EHR system management experience
- Expertise in HIPAA and federal health information regulations
- Proficiency in Epic or Cerner EHR platforms
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
