Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records systems (EHR) in compliance with VA and federal regulations
- Ensure data integrity through rigorous quality control procedures and audits
- Implement health information privacy and security protocols (HIPAA, VA directives)
- Coordinate with clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Train staff on health information management systems and best practices
- Support health data analytics initiatives for improved veteran care
- Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required (or eligible)
- Minimum 3 years of health information management experience
- Expertise in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and federal healthcare regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
