Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems for veteran patients ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Oversee health information data quality and integrity across multiple VA facilities
- Implement and optimize health information management policies and procedures
- Train staff on health information systems and regulatory requirements
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with federal healthcare standards
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams on system upgrades and security protocols
- Lead data analysis projects to improve healthcare delivery outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years experience with EHR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS regulations
- Demonstrated project management experience in healthcare IT
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
