Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Coordinate medical documentation processes across clinical departments
- Conduct quality audits of health information for accuracy and completeness
- Implement health information privacy and security protocols
- Train staff on electronic health record systems and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 2 years EHR system experience (Epic preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, VA policies, and federal healthcare regulations
- Proficient in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and data analysis
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
