Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems including CPRS and VistA
- Implement HIPAA-compliant security protocols for sensitive veteran data
- Lead IT infrastructure upgrades and system integration projects
- Provide technical support to clinical staff and troubleshoot complex IT issues
- Develop training materials for healthcare technology adoption
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system enhancements
- Ensure compliance with federal IT security standards (NIST, FISMA)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with healthcare IT systems (EHR/PACS)
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Certification in ITIL, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
- Expertise in database management (SQL, Oracle)
- Experience with federal IT procurement processes
- Strong project management skills (PMP preferred)
- Knowledge of VA-specific healthcare technology frameworks
