Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate VA disability compensation claims with 100% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive interviews to gather veteran medical and service history
- Interpret complex federal regulations (38 CFR) to determine benefit eligibility
- Represent veterans in appeals and hearings before the Board of Veterans' Appeals
- Collaborate with medical professionals to develop Compensation & Pension exams
- Utilize VBA systems (VBMS, VBAS) for claims management and documentation
- Provide veterans with benefit counseling and referrals to VA healthcare resources
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree or 3+ years experience in veterans services/social work
- Knowledge of military service-connected disabilities and VA compensation structure
- Experience with federal claims processing systems (VBMS preferred)
- Ability to interpret complex legal/regulatory documents (38 CFR)
- Superior interpersonal skills for veteran counseling and advocacy
- Security clearance eligibility (required for access to veteran records)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software
