Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate complex VA disability compensation claims with 100% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive interviews to gather veteran medical and service history
- Analyze medical evidence and legal documents to determine benefit eligibility
- Provide clear guidance to veterans on claim status and appeal processes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and legal teams for claim resolution
- Maintain strict compliance with federal regulations and VA policies
- Utilize VA systems (VBMS, VBAS) for documentation and case tracking
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- GS-7: 1 year specialized experience OR Superior Academic Achievement
- GS-9: Master's degree or 2 years specialized experience
- GS-11: Ph.D. or 3 years specialized experience
- Proficiency in interpreting medical records and federal regulations
- Experience with claims processing systems (VBMS, VBAS) preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive veteran information with empathy and discretion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex cases
