Key Duties:
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of maintenance and repair tasks related to water distribution systems. This includes responding to service calls, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. You will be working with state-of-the-art equipment and will be trained to handle complex utility issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water mains, fire hydrants, and service lines.
- Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, backhoes, and trenchers, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Conduct leak detection and pressure testing to identify and repair system failures.
- Respond to emergency repair requests during severe weather events or service outages.
- Inspect and maintain a fleet of municipal vehicles and utility trucks.
- Document all maintenance activities and repair logs accurately for record-keeping.
- Collaborate with team members to complete large-scale infrastructure projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes endorsement is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in water utility maintenance, plumbing, or mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Physical capability to lift 50+ pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
