Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility security protocols during weekend shifts
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance rounds using modern security systems
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques per policy
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation using digital systems
- Coordinate with weekend medical staff for inmate healthcare needs
- Participate in mandatory weekend training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Kentucky Correctional Officer Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Fri-Sun)
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
