Responsibilities
- Conduct weekend inspections of food service establishments, childcare centers, and public facilities to ensure compliance with state health codes
- Investigate public health complaints and potential hazards during weekend operations
- Document findings using digital systems and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Educate business owners and operators on health regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with epidemiology teams during weekend outbreak investigations
- Participate in weekend emergency response for public health incidents
- Maintain accurate records and databases of weekend inspections and violations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in health inspection or regulatory compliance
- Valid Colorado Food Protection Manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of Colorado Public Health Act and food safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders
- Valid Colorado driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods during inspections
