Responsibilities
- Coordinate weekend traffic management and emergency response operations across NYC boroughs
- Monitor and maintain critical transportation infrastructure including signals, bridges, and roadways
- Collaborate with NYPD, FDNY, and other city agencies during weekend events and emergencies
- Prepare daily shift reports and incident documentation for city leadership
- Implement weekend construction detour plans while minimizing public disruption
- Train weekend crews on DOT protocols and safety procedures
- Respond to real-time citizen inquiries via weekend hotline services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation operations or emergency management
- Valid New York State driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and traffic management software
- FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) certification preferred
- Ability to work flexible weekends and holidays as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
