Responsibilities
- Patrol designated parks and trails during weekend shifts to ensure visitor safety and regulatory compliance
- Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and coordinate with emergency services
- Provide visitor assistance, interpretive information, and environmental education programs
- Monitor park conditions, report maintenance issues, and enforce park regulations
- Conduct routine facility inspections and document usage patterns
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security incidents or wildlife encounters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in environmental science preferred
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Experience in public safety, customer service, or park management
- Ability to work independently in outdoor environments during varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills with diverse community members
- Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and Oakland park systems
