Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for state agency applications and hardware.
- Perform system maintenance, patch management, and security updates on servers during weekend hours.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure 24/7 availability.
- Assist in the migration of legacy data systems to current government standards.
- Document technical incidents and resolutions in the centralized service management system.
- Collaborate with full-time staff to prioritize and escalate critical system outages.
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery drills to ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or system administration.
- Must be available to work rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a weekly basis.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and comply with New York State residency requirements.
