Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency calls (fire, medical, police) with accuracy, speed, and empathy.
- Dispatch appropriate emergency responders using two-way radio and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers to ensure their safety while responders are en route.
- Monitor the status of emergency units and maintain accurate logs of all communications and incidents.
- Coordinate seamlessly with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services.
- Perform emergency notification duties and assist with administrative tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under extreme pressure.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM) and computer literacy.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical examination.
