As a Dispatcher Trainee, you will receive comprehensive training to prepare you for a vital role in law enforcement. You will be the first point of contact for citizens in distress, requiring a calm demeanor and exceptional multitasking abilities.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using two-way radio and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all calls for service and unit activity.
- Monitor security systems and CCTV feeds to identify potential threats.
- Provide critical information to field personnel to ensure officer and citizen safety.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel during the trainee program.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with computer systems and typing (40+ wpm preferred).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
