Responsibilities
- Manage incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail, ensuring accuracy and strict confidentiality.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take detailed minutes for departmental sessions.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, memos, and correspondence for senior staff and public officials.
- Maintain and organize physical and digital filing systems to ensure efficient record retrieval.
- Process and verify data entry tasks, ensuring strict compliance with county regulations and data privacy standards.
- Support the department with special projects, event coordination, and community outreach initiatives.
- Assist visitors and callers by providing clear information regarding departmental services and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional administrative or business coursework is preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant administrative experience in a public sector or fast-paced office environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the public and internal staff.
- Knowledge of Los Angeles County government procedures and policies is a significant plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desirable.
