Responsibilities
- Route Delivery: Sort and deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an assigned route using a Parcel Drop Vehicle (PDV) or by walking.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service and handle incoming and outgoing mail with care.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily inspections of the delivery vehicle and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Security & Safety: Ensure the safety of the mail and the public by adhering to all postal safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Collection: Collect and process payments for CCA (City Carrier Associate) positions as required.
- Record Keeping: Update the Delivery Management System (DMS) and maintain accurate records of daily activities.
- Adaptability: Adapt to schedule changes, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, to ensure uninterrupted service.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Driver’s License: Possess a valid State Driver’s License (Class B CDL preferred for vehicle carriers).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs and endure walking/driving for long distances in all weather conditions.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
