Responsibilities
- Oversee all official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with Freedom of Information Law (FOIL)
- Administer oaths of office, licenses, and permits for city operations
- Coordinate with city agencies to maintain accurate voter registration and election records
- Supervise document preservation systems and implement secure record-keeping protocols
- Represent the city at public hearings and community outreach events
- Lead a team of administrative professionals with mentorship and performance management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Expertise in records management systems and FOIL compliance procedures
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management software
- Proven leadership experience with team management responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- New York State residency required within 90 days of appointment
- Valid New York State driver's license
