Responsibilities
- Administer municipal elections with strict adherence to Arizona election laws and voter accessibility standards
- Manage official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and archival documents with meticulous documentation protocols
- Provide legislative support to the Mayor and City Council, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and public records coordination
- Oversee public information requests and ensure compliance with Arizona Public Records Laws (A.R.S. § 39-121)
- Attest to official documents and maintain the city seal as the designated custodian
- Coordinate interdepartmental record management systems and retention policies
- Serve as the primary liaison for municipal clerk associations and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field; Master's preferred
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with 2+ years in clerk or records management
- Arizona Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in election administration, public records law, and legislative processes
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, M-Files)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills for public-facing interactions
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
