Responsibilities
- Preserve and maintain official city council minutes, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage public records requests in compliance with Indiana public access laws
- Oversee municipal election processes and voter registration coordination
- Administer oaths of office and notarial services for city officials
- Coordinate public meetings agendas and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Manage document retention systems and digital archives
- Act as primary liaison between citizens and city legislative bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal government or public records management
- Proficiency with document management systems and digital archiving tools
- Deep understanding of Indiana public records laws (IC 5-14-3)
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting official documents
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
