Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, minutes, and public documents
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and election compliance
- Prepare and administer oaths of office for city officials and staff
- Coordinate City Council meetings, agendas, and public records requests
- Ensure compliance with Texas open records laws and municipal regulations
- Supplement records management systems and document retention policies
- Serve as primary liaison between public, elected officials, and city departments
- Manage clerk's office budget and supervise departmental staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Texas Certified Municipal Clerk (TCMC) or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of Texas Election Code and Government Code Chapter 551
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders
- Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
