Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal elections, including ballot design, polling place coordination, and result certification
- Manage official city records, document retention policies, and public information requests
- Prepare and maintain city council agendas, minutes, and legislative actions
- Administer oaths of office, public notary services, and municipal licensing
- Coordinate public hearings, community meetings, and civic engagement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with state election laws and municipal code requirements
- Lead records digitization projects and modernize information management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public sector administration
- Expert knowledge of California Election Code and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- California Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for legal documents
- Experience leading public-facing civic engagement initiatives
