Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee public records requests, ensuring timely responses while maintaining legal compliance
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes with precision
- Coordinate public meetings, including agenda preparation, documentation, and compliance with open-meeting laws
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official documents
- Provide administrative support to the Mayor's Office and City Council
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with Louisiana state statutes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in municipal records management or government operations
- Proficiency with records management software and document imaging systems
- Deep understanding of Louisiana Public Records Act and open-meeting laws
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex document systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public interactions
- Certification in Municipal Clerk (CMC) or equivalent preferred
