Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official municipal records with digital preservation protocols
- Coordinate City Council meetings, agendas, and public hearing documentation
- Oversee municipal elections processes including ballot certification and canvassing
- Administer public records requests in compliance with RCW and municipal policies
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with state/federal regulations
- Serve as custodian of the City Seal and official municipal documents
- Train staff on records management best practices and legislative procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years municipal government records management experience
- Advanced knowledge of Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56)
- Expertise in parliamentary procedure and Robert's Rules of Order
- Proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation skills
- Valid Washington State driver's license
