Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official municipal records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Coordinate public records requests with strict adherence to open records laws
- Prepare and certify official documents including minutes and contracts
- Support Metro Council meetings through agenda preparation and documentation
- Oversee voter registration and election coordination functions
- Implement records retention policies and digital archiving systems
- Serve as primary liaison between government departments and the public
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years records management or municipal governance experience
- Expertise in Tennessee open records laws and Sunshine Act compliance
- Advanced proficiency with document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to manage complex documentation
- Strong written communication skills for legal document preparation
