Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and accessibility of official city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Support City Council meetings through agenda preparation, minute-taking, and compliance tracking
- Manage voter registration records and administer municipal elections per state regulations
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely, accurate responses
- Lead the city's records management program, including digital archiving systems
- Advise city departments on legislative compliance and procedural requirements
- Develop public outreach initiatives to enhance civic participation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in municipal government or records management
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Knowledge of California election laws and Brown Act requirements
- Excellent written communication and public speaking abilities
- California Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid California driver's license
