Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate recording and publication of City Council meeting minutes and official proceedings
- Manage all municipal records retention, retrieval, and destruction in compliance with state regulations
- Administer oaths of office and notarial services for city officials and documents
- Coordinate public records requests while maintaining confidentiality protocols
- Supervise elections and voter registration processes within municipal jurisdiction
- Maintain city charter and code of ordinances with legislative updates
- Serve as clerk to the City Council and Board of Zoning Adjustments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or public records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Proficiency in records management systems and document automation
- Advanced knowledge of Nebraska open records laws and Sunshine statutes
- Exceptional written communication skills with attention to legal precision
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information
