Responsibilities
- Officially record, index, and maintain all Dallas City Council minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and legislative actions
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with Texas Public Information Act
- Oversee city elections processes including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling place coordination
- Manage municipal records retention and destruction policies per state regulations
- Prepare and certify official city documents including contracts, proclamations, and legal instruments
- Provide administrative support to City Council including agenda preparation and public hearing coordination
- Supplement records management staff and implement digital archiving systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government records management experience
- Texas Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Texas Public Information Act and open records laws
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in fast-paced environment
- Experience with election administration or council procedures highly desirable
