Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, and contracts, ensuring compliance with the Oklahoma Open Records Act.
- Prepare and publish meeting agendas, supporting documents, and official minutes for City Council and Board meetings.
- Act as the primary liaison between the City Council, City Manager, and department heads to ensure effective communication.
- Coordinate public information requests and ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of legal documents, including subpoenas and summons.
- Manage the City's financial reporting requirements related to meeting minutes and official actions.
- Supervise and mentor staff within the clerk’s office, including administrative assistants and interns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal government or a similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in government management software (e.g., Accela, eCivic) or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Oklahoma state laws regarding public records and open meetings.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
