Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, and council minutes with absolute precision
- Administer public records requests in compliance with California Public Records Act
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and redistricting processes
- Prepare agendas and provide legislative support for City Council meetings
- Manage city seal authentication and official document certification
- Coordinate interdepartmental records management systems and retention policies
- Act as primary liaison between the public and city government on procedural matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Expertise in California election laws and public records regulations
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Valid California driver's license and ability to work flexible evening/weekend hours
