Responsibilities
- Serve as custodian of official City records, including ordinances, resolutions, and historical documents
- Administer oaths, take depositions, and notarize official documents
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and supporting materials for City Council meetings
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration compliance
- Manage public records requests and ensure transparency in government operations
- Coordinate with city departments on legislative tracking and compliance
- Lead records management systems and digital archiving initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of California Government Code and election laws
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public speaking skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Valid California driver's license
