Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes in compliance with state statutes
- Oversee municipal election processes including voter registration, candidate filings, and election administration
- Administer oaths of office, public records requests, and notary services
- Coordinate city council agendas, prepare packets, and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Maintain municipal code updates and legislative tracking systems
- Serve as clerk to the Board of Zoning Adjustments and other quasi-judicial bodies
- Manage records retention schedules and digital archives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Nebraska election laws and open records statutes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Valid Nebraska driver's license
