Responsibilities
- Officially record, maintain, and archive all City Council minutes, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with Kentucky Open Records laws
- Administer oaths of office and notarial services for municipal documents
- Coordinate municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare and distribute official public notices and meeting agendas
- Oversee the city's legislative tracking system and code updates
- Act as primary liaison between citizens and local government bodies
- Maintain official city seal and certification of municipal documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal/government administrative experience
- Kentucky Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Expert knowledge of Kentucky Revised Statutes and open records laws
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional written communication and proofreading abilities
- Experience with public meeting facilitation and minute-taking
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality
